Jesus And His Disciples

  • Jesus went around preaching and teaching the people. Jesus preached about the love of God the Father. Jesus said:
     
    “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent; and believe in the good news” (Mark 1:15).
    Good News is the message of salvation given to us through Jesus by God the Father. The meaning of the word ospel is 'Good News'.
     
    Jesus' disciples are those who believed in Jesus and followed him. Jesus selected some from among these
    disciples to continue His mission. They are the twelve apostles.
     
     

     

    All the disciples of Jesus were ordinary people. They left every thing and followed Jesus. They listened to his words carefully.
    They saw His deeds. They lived with Him for three years.
     
    Jesus gave a command to His disciples: “ As you go, proclaim the good news, ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near’. Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers. cast out demons” (Matthew 10: 7-8).
     
    According to the command of Jesus, they went around the villages and preached that the Kingdom of God has come. We Christians too, are the disciples of Jesus. We are also bound to proclaim the Gospel to others. Let us reveal Jesus to others through our lives.

    to live according to the Gospel.
